Snowmobiling near Dubois and Togwotee Pass gives a winter RV trip a different kind of adventure. The riding plans matter, but so do the practical details: where you will park your trailer, how you will reach the riding area, and where you can return for a shower and a quiet evening.
Choose your riding plans before choosing an arrival time
Decide whether you are bringing your own sleds or arranging rentals and a guide. Confirm the meeting location, equipment pickup, experience requirements and current operating dates with the provider. Togwotee Mountain Lodge’s snowmobiling information is one direct provider resource to consult; availability and services should be confirmed with the operator. Windhaven does not provide snowmobile rentals or guided rides.
Use current permits, maps and conditions
Consult Wyoming State Trails for the applicable snowmobile decal and registration information. Use current official trail maps and follow posted closures; do not rely on a general destination article to decide where you can ride.
Check WYDOT road conditions for your driving route. Consult the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center for forecasts and resources relevant to the terrain you plan to visit. Conditions, experience and appropriate preparation should guide your riding plans.
Plan trailer parking separately from the riding access
Windhaven welcomes guests traveling with snowmobiles, enclosed trailers and extra vehicles. Call with your RV length, trailer length and number of vehicles so we can discuss site placement, parking and any applicable extra arrangements. Do not assume a booking for one RV also settles every trailer or extra-vehicle detail.
Windhaven is an RV lodging base in Dubois, not a promised ride-from-your-site trailhead. Confirm trailhead parking and transport plans for the riding area you choose.
Return to a year-round full-hookup basecamp
Our winter RV camping sites in Dubois include water, sewer and 30/50-amp power. Restrooms, showers and laundry remain open through winter. Bring the heated water hose and cold-weather equipment your RV needs; we do not supply that equipment.
Leave room for a weather-flexible day
If plans change, explore an indoor option such as the National Museum of Military Vehicles, checking its current schedule before visiting. Winter travel works better when the itinerary has room to adapt.
