Windhaven RV Resort is open year-round on the Wind River in Dubois, Wyoming, giving hunters a quiet in-town RV basecamp before and after long days in the field. Settle in near the services of town, prepare for the next day and come back to a peaceful place to recharge.
Windhaven is an RV resort and campground—not an outfitter. We do not sell hunting licenses or provide guided hunts. We offer a comfortable home base for hunters who already have their hunt planned or are working with a licensed local outfitter.
A Practical RV Basecamp for Wyoming Hunting
An effective hunting trip takes more than choosing a unit. You need a dependable place for your RV, straightforward access to town and a comfortable place to recover between early mornings and long days outdoors.
Windhaven offers full-hookup RV sites with 30- and 50-amp service, Wi-Fi, showers and laundry in Dubois. The resort is open year-round, including Wyoming hunting season, and the restrooms, showers and laundry remain open through winter. Weekly and monthly stays may be available by phone.
Hunters may bring enclosed trailers, ATVs, additional trucks and other vehicles. Windhaven has room to accommodate them, although placement and any additional charge are determined case by case. Call ahead with your RV length and the number and size of all vehicles and trailers so the team can plan the right space.
Hunting Near Dubois, Wyoming
The Dubois area is associated with opportunities for elk, deer, pronghorn, moose, bighorn sheep and other Wyoming game. The correct season, license, hunt area, public access rules and current conditions depend on the species and the specific year.
Use the official Wyoming Game and Fish Department Hunt Planner to review hunt areas, season dates, regulations, access information and application details. The department’s 2026 Wyoming Hunt Forecast provides current regional context, but it does not replace the official regulations for your hunt.
Hunters are responsible for securing the correct licenses, knowing property boundaries, checking current fire and travel restrictions and following all Wyoming Game and Fish regulations.
Plan the Stay as Carefully as the Hunt
Wyoming weather and road conditions can change quickly during fall and winter. Before traveling, check the official Wyoming road conditions and confirm the services you will need at the resort.
When you call Windhaven, be ready to share:
